Waiting For Ava

“But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day.” Habakkuk 2:3

6 months together...seems like we have never been apart

It is hard to believe that we have been a family for 6 months. Ava has fit into our lives so smoothly we wonder how we got so lucky. We had heard that the CCAA had a almost magical talent for matching child with family and we are true believers.
We absolutely had some tough times in the beginning and we still have our battle of wills every once in a while(Ava very often wins).
In the past 6 months Ava has blossomed. It feels like I just blink my eyes and she has learned something new. She is growing up so fast. I have learned alot in this journey too. Being a Mom is alot harder and more exhausting than I could ever imagine but the rewards are so worth it.
When Ava climbs up to give kisses or wanders over and gives my leg a hug while I am making dinner my heart melts. Ava is such an affectionate little girl. She loves to cuddle and dance.
We have had some playdate with our neighbor Tina and her daughter Emily. Emily is just one month older than Ava so we are so happy they will have each other to grow together and hopefully be great friends. We have also started swimming lessons. We are working on kicking our legs and blowing bubbles. Ava doesn't mind going under water and will jump from the side of the pool as long as she has mommy's hands. It is a lot of fun and it has been great to see Ava interact with other kids.
