Waiting For Ava

“But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day.” Habakkuk 2:3

Ava is feeling a little sad today

Well today is a different day. Ava is feeling sad and is crying quite a bit. We are not worried as it is normal, but feel so bad for what she is going through. In her paperwork, we found that she did not wear diapers in the foster home. This is a challenge because the diapers we change are almost dry and she doesn't hesitate to pee down our legs when her diaper is off. She has not had a poop so I am sure that is not helping her mood. As well she is teething and may have an ear infection. The past two days have been overwhelming for us all. I think we will forgo the touring tomorrow and have a quiet day to ourselves.

    Hi Terri and Mike.

Boy, she sure is a cutie .... Just lovely !! Mum wanted me to add a few words for her. She wanted to let you both know how thrilled and happy she is for you. She can hardly wait to see Ava. She hopes you have a great flight back, and things go smoothly.

Terri, maybe on the diaper thing .... the boys, when they came to us, had diapers but really wouldn't do anything unless they had a diaper on ... the complete opposite. I was wondering, if she is small enough to wear the training pants, and maybe she might like those as they are more like undies for kids. They have cute pink ones for little girlies, and maybe a frilly undie or 2 overtop of that. You never know.

Oh well, thought I might give you a little tidbit of info. If it helps, great, and if not, I am sure you two will think of something. Parents .... WOW ! It has been so long, but worth wait right !

    Love to all

    Marianne

Terri- a lot of families in China experience the same thing. These little ones are used to wearing split pants and going potty on command. Next time you take her diaper off and it's dry, hold her over the potty. I bet she will use it. Another mom also made grunting noises while doing this and their little one pooped in the potty- I don't even think she was a year old... give it a try!
