Waiting For Ava

“But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day.” Habakkuk 2:3

Two Best Friends

It's hard to believe that a child that is just under two and a puppy that is only just over four months old will lay down together like this for at least an hour at a time. Ava loves Georgia so much.

hi there! i stumbled upon your blog while randomly clicking through that "next blog" button at the top of the screen. my husband and i are adopting a baby boy from korea and our waiting for our travel notification (our blog is about our adoption journey as well). the wait stinks, but goodness, it looks like your wait for a referral was quite long, so i'm sure you know how sucky waiting is! but your ava is beautiful and i am certain that she was well worth the wait. i love reading others' adoption stories and am glad i stumbled upon yours!

thank you so much for your encouragement! i have a random question...how was ava with your dog when she first came home? we have a 3 year-old lab mix who simply adores children but she is 55 pounds and can be quite scary to a young child who is not used to dogs. i really worry that our son will totally freak out when he sees her and will be scared...did you experience any of that with ava? or do you have any tips on making the introduction and transistion easy for both pup and baby? thanks!
