Waiting For Ava

“But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day.” Habakkuk 2:3

Six - Twelve - Eighteen Months now TWO YEARS

Terri and I had to ask Children's Bridge for a letter to give to the National Bank for our adoption loan. The loan is a loan on demand. So you only take the money as you need it. We applied for the loan in February 2006. We were told that it was only good for one year and after a year we would have to apply for an extention on the loan. When we called the bank in February of this year they asked us for a letter from Children's Bridge. When we received the letter it stated that Children's Bridge expects us to be travelling spring or summer 2008. How depressing is that? To think when we started this process we totally expected to be receiving our referral in six months. Now it seems like every time we turn around the waiting time is getting longer. When we started this process we were thinking that we would be going back for a second child by now. Now the thought of a second child from China is getting pretty bleek.

CB actually gave a travel time of spring/summer of 2008?! Wow, they certainly don't sugar coat things!
Looks like they will be bang on for us ... 18 months.
We will hit the 16 month LID anniversary this weekend and don't expect to be in the next batch ... MAYBE the one after that.
As for number 2 ... don't give up on that just yet ... you guys are still young and you will be more than prepared for the wait. Hang in there!

    Hi guys,

We are with Group 268 (LID June 22, 2006), so we hear you! This wait sucks! We are from Midland so not too far from you. Hopefully things will speed up for us all.
